In this film Franz Ackermann discusses his exhibition in ‘9 x 9 x 9’ at White Cube, Bermondsey. Ackermann talks about how his work aims to translate the experience of travel or walking – of a durational performance – into two-dimensional drawing and painting. He discusses how this relates to the Situationst notion of ‘dérive’ and how his work incorporates different media within one surface to reflect the visual environment our digital age.
